Shrine Maiden is a metal band from Los Angeles that incorporates traditional Hawaiian chant to their doom, drone-heavy sound. The band is comprised of husband and wife duo Ryan Betschart on guitars and vocals and Rachel Nakawatase on synth, drums and vocals. On their newest album and first for Whited Sepulchre Records weave grinding slow-motion riffs and howling vocals through dark ambient soundscapes.
